Care and Use

Fresh out of the box

Remove any contents, labels or items attached to your pot.

We recommend that you wash it with warm water and dishwashing liquid, rinse well and dry.

No other preparation is required you are ready to cook!

But wait the box!

Before you throw out our gorgeous box stop for a moment.  We have intentionally made a box sturdy enough to keep.  We love the idea that you will begin to stash away hand written recipes, notes or decoration paraphernalia from parties, events and shared table past.  What a treasure to be able to pass on with your pot!

Our most loved tip is to scribble a quick note on the item before you put it away.  Although you might remember exactly what that piece of memorabilia might be – live does get busy and others may not.

Otherwise the box is fully recyclable so dispose of it thoughtfully.

Precautions

No one likes a shock including your pot!  Thermal shock resulting from sudden heat if cool or sudden cold if hot can damage the integrity of the iron and or enamel.  Just like us your pot likes to be heated up or cooled down slowly.  And when pre heating, don’t go too long – overheating an empty pot is not ideal.

We recommend heat resistant plastic or wood utensils on your pots to avoid scratching the enamel.

We love that our pots get super hot and retain their heat BUT we want to look after you as well as the pot so ALWAYS use a pot holder or oven gloves and never place your pot on an unprotected surface.

Select an element which is smaller or equal to the dimension of the bottom of your Beloven pot.  Flames coming up the pot’s side could cause some enamel damage or discolouration.

Usage

We are all about simple, back to basics cooking so we are happy to go anywhere expect the microwave.

You can use your Beloven pot on electric or gas rings as well as radiant, induction or halogen cooktops.   Be careful to lift rather than slide your pot over glass ceramic and induction cooktops – we want your cook top to last as long as your pot!

For cooktops with ‘booster’ functions please heat up your pot first on a lower heat for 5 minutes before increasing to full heat.

Of course your Beloven pot is happy to sit in the oven for hours and your fridge.

Remember always allow your pot to cool before placing it in cold water.

Maximum temperature : stainless steel knobs mean you can cook at any temperature.

After Use

Your pot is dishwasher safe but some detergents are harsh so we recommend you don’t do this regularly.  After the pot has cooled completely, we recommend you wash it out with warm water, dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge or plastic brush, drying with a clean cloth.

Let your pots sit in the open air before storing away, although we don’t think our pots should ever be ‘stored away”!

Don’t use bleach, abrasive chemicals or abrasive scrubbers as this will dull the enamel and could affect the non-stick nature of the internal finish

If residue remains after cleaning, it is best to soak in warm water to allow it to loosen.

Maintenance

Should your pot be stained then try bringing some water to the boil with some dissolved bicarb soda / baking soda. But remember that this discolouration wont effect the taste or quality of your food.  And just like the wrinkles that form on our face those stains are the patina of amazing meals, people gathered together and memories treasured.

The knob may loosen so regularly check the tightness and gently re-tighten them it necessary.
